Default Are there bots in PvP?

It just seems to me it would be incredibly easy to make say an interupt bot/mod/autocast whatever. If x skill is being cast by target and y ability is not on cool down, use interupt.

Granted its a lot harder than that.. but boting isn't that difficult.

There are Random Arena faction-farming bots. They are most commonly monks - in two flavours, the ones who dump maintained enchantments on the rest of the party, and the heal/prot spammers. I've also hear rumours of ritualist spirit-spammer bots.

...They're not very effective, though. Which to my mind says something good about RA's skill level! (yeah, I never thought I'd see the day either )

Rumor has it some of the touch rangers are bots. Which would explain why they're retarded enough to run at me, watch me start casting diversion, see the hex pop up, start touching me anyway, then stick around to wand me when their touches are both knocked out.

There are bots in Aspenwood which just auto-rejoin. Some of them even use signets on themselves while they park on the spawn pad! :P

Sometimes this behaviour can be explained by players in these formats being truly awful. I dont think there are bots in low level PVP, just lots and lots of lots of absolutely terrible players.

I'm not sure about Touch Rangers (think Patrogad hit the nail on the head with that one), but I have noticed that there are some Rt spirit spam bots in RA, where they just spirit spam the spawn area.

of course this amount of absolutely terrible player favors the use of bots... since when you have just a bit of playing capability you should be able to evade a repeating action... before you died to often...

touchers run at you...because they need to...

and why would you learn skills of the opponent? it just eats the 2 and a half brain cells you do have left

Some Rt/W in RA appear to be bots. They will always walk a certain distance outside the spawn point and use the same skills in the same order seemingly oblivious to both their team and the enemy. I'll see if I can get a screenshot.

I swear those rangers must have aimbot, the way they always interrupt my spells.

In all seriousness though, I doubt if there are that many botters in GW PvP. There are probably some, like spirit spammers and such that people have already mentioned, but GW requires a lot more input then most games and players' actions are much easier to counter. In CS, it's pretty hard to counter getting automatically shot in the head as soon as you appear on someone's screen. In GW, on the other hand, you can't just destroy people so quickly or easily. If someone is using a bot to perform repetitive, predictable actions, it should be pretty easy to beat them even in RA.

I was saying that jokingly. I have no doubt you could write a bot to run a touch ranger though. Hell I could write it on a keyboard macro. C, 4, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, C, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, C, 5, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2. Put that on loop for 4 consecutive RA wins.

As for the Aspenwood bots, if it's been long enough since an update, you'll get big clusters on them that wind up sync-joining and you get 5+ leechers per game, the same 5+ leechers as the time before. And they're rejoining for HOURS.

There are bots doing RA/Aspenwood/AB etc, however none of them should actually be a "threat" to any decent player. I've seen some of these scripts and they were all EXTREMELY primitive (target the nearest player, spam skill #1-4 etc).
